In a New Delhi hospital ICU, 25-year-old musician Wenkosi Lemuel Tshili is fighting for his life. On May 13, 2025, Wenkosi underwent his third open-heart surgery at Max Super Speciality Hospital. The operation gave him a lifeline, but it was only one battle in a long war against his illness. Born to Bishop Fikekhaya and Londiwe Tshili, Wenkosi has always been a beacon of talent and hope in his community. Now, this vibrant young artist desperately needs our help to survive.
A Passion for Music
Wenkosi isn’t just a patient; he’s a passionate songwriter and multi-instrument musician. His guitar melodies and piano chords have lifted the hearts of countless people. Whether leading worship in his church or writing new songs late into the night, music is Wenkosi’s life and gift. His family remembers the sparkle in his eyes when he talks about performing concerts and recording his own album one day. That dream is now in serious danger.
Battling Life-Threatening Illnesses.
For years, Wenkosi has battled multiple chronic illnesses: severe heart disease, chronic kidney failure, and hypertension. His weakened heart and failing kidneys make every day a struggle. The recent surgery repaired damaged valves and gave Wenkosi a fighting chance, but recovery will be long and difficult. Doctors say he must remain in the ICU for at least 21 days to stabilize his heart and body. If he pulls through, he will then face a life-saving kidney transplant in two months. In this race against time, every hour — and every dollar — counts.
Urgent Help Needed
Bishop Fikekhaya and Londiwe have been by Wenkosi’s side through it all. They have already paid over $43,000 for surgeries and ICU care, depleting their savings and contributions from various sources, and are going into debt. Every local donation and sacrifice has been made, but the costs keep rising. Doctors say another $28,000 is urgently needed to continue Wenkosi’s treatment, cover his ICU stay and medications, and prepare for the transplant. Without immediate funds, Wenkosi’s treatment could be cut off. We must act now to give him a chance at life.
Wenkosi’s life is in our hands now. He should be strumming his guitar and sharing his music, not lying in a hospital bed, alone and afraid. The pain in his mother’s eyes and the tears in his father’s voice remind us how real this crisis is. We can not let Wenkosi’s story end here.
